An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale rattled the Imperial Valley late Friday night. The earthquake was centered about 16 miles south of Mexicali in Baja California. Preliminary estimates listed the shaker as 5.4 on the Richter Scale. Shaky nerves and rattled crockery were reported as well as numerous reports of alarms being set off. The earthquake was reported at 11:12 PM.
