U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers at the Calexico East port of entry intercepted over $300,000 worth of cocaine Wednesday afternoon. A 2006 Honda Civic with California plates was escorted to secondary inspection after a detector dog alerted to the car during a pre-primary inspection. CBP officers noticed signs of nervousness displayed by the driver , a 21-year old San Ysidro, California resident. At the examination area 15 wrapped packages of cocaine were found concealed in the dashboard area. Total weight of the narcotics is 38 pounds. The driver was arrested for alleged narcotic smuggling and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents for further investigation.
