(It appeared to be a routine call)….It turned out to be something of a mystery.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the call at just before 6:00 Friday morning. It was reported a truck had crashed into a Telephone pole. The CHP arrived at the scene on Austin Road near Weaver Road. They found the damaged pole and the vehicle. They did not find any people. The Highway Patrol says it also appeared the truck had been pulled onto the canal bank. They said both plates and the rear axle had been sheared off. Austin Road was closed to traffic to allow for the investigation and clean-up of the area. At last report the Sheriff’s office was checking hospital emergency rooms to s if anyone appeared to have been in a traffic incident. A minor fluid spill also had to be cleaned up.
