(Woman rescued from a canal)…She had been in the canal for up to 4 hours.
The 60 year old woman was reportedly exercising along the canal near Neckel and Austin Roads at around 3:00 am Tuesday. She apparently slipped and fell into the canal. At around 7:00 am a motorist passing by noticed the woman in the canal, clutching a branch. The motorist called 911. Before anyone could arrive from the 911 call, passersby were able to lift the woman out of the water. When the first responder arrived they found the woman walking around. She was a bit incoherent, but said she did not need medical attention.
