The American Red Cross has recognized an Imperial Police Officer for his lifesaving efforts.

Officer Jason Sanchez received the prestigious National Lifesaving Award from the American Red Cross of San Diego and Imperial Counties. In January of this year , Sanchez was dispatched to provide medical aid to a woman who was choking. Officer Sanchez performed abdominal thrusts on the victim and then began performing CPR when the woman lost her pulse. Officer Sanchez's actions and skills helped save the woman's life. He was presented the Lifesaving Awards Certificate of Extraordinary Personal Action  , awarded to individuals who step up in an emergency situation and help save or sustain a life.
