( A Multi-Agency investigation started in Yuma)…It ends in Calexico.

Yuma Police were investigating the theft of firearms and ammunition. The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office was called in along with the US Border Patrol. With the three agencies participating it was not long before they identified the suspects. They were two men, a 34 year old and a 36 year old, both Mexican Nationals and legal US residents. They were living in Calexico. A search warrant was obtained and served at the men’s residence. Investigators found 11 firearms, including a .50 caliber rifle and a sawed off shotgun. They also found large amounts of military grade ammunition and several high capacity magazines. The two were arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail.
