El Centro Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Villa Avenue in El Centro at about 5:46 p.m. with a report of a fight in the area. Following that call another call indicted that there were multiple shots fired and that a person had been shot. The victim , a 40-year old El Centro man , appeared to have been shot several times. The man was airlifted to a trauma center due to the severity of his injuries. 

Officers developed information that a white Cadillac may have been involved in the incident. A car matching that description was located in the 300 block of Eucalyptus in El Centro and four men were near the car. During a search of the car and the area surrounding a nearby residence officers located several firearms. All four men were arrested and later, three of the men were booked into Imperial County Jail for their involvement in the shooting. The fourth man was released without charges. El Centro Police believe the actual shooter remains at large. He is described as a Hispanic male , 20 - 25 years of age , last seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and black shorts. He is said to have a tattoo on his face with the letters LP. He is considered armed and dangerous. 

The victim remains hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.
