(Dates released for Special Election)…In the coming months voters will fill the vacant State Senate Seat for District 40.
The seat was vacated by Congressman Juan Vargas after he took the Congressional seat at the first of the year. The Primary election will be held March 12th. The Special Election will be held Tuesday May 14th. Interim Registrar of Voters Debra Porter released important deadlines for the Primary. Today, Monday, is the first day vote-by-mail ballots are mailed to voters. Ballots can be dropped off at the ballots at any City Hall in the County. The last day to register to vote in the primary is February 25th. Vote By Mail Ballots can be requested up until March 5th. The Registrar says Sample Ballots, Information Ballots along with the Vote By Mail Ballots are being sent to registered voters.
