The California Air Resources Board will conduct inspections of heavy duty trucks in and around Imperial County.
The Air Resources Board and the California Highway Patrol will conduct the inspections. The crackdown is a follow-up to ARB's " Gear Up for Clean Trucks " campaign in August. At that time more than 4,000 vehicles were inspected at 40 locations throughout the state. According to ARB , the measuresa are aimed at cleaning up diesel vehicles , including requirements to report fleet information , employ fuel-saving technology , install diesel soot filters and replace or upgrade aging engines and transport refrigeration units.
