(California Highway Patrol investigating 2 traffic incidents)…The first was reported Sunday morning.

The CHP says there was a single vehicle traffic collision reported at 5:34 in the morning. A vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 11, north of Jaspar Road, apparently slid off the roadway and took out a fence. The driver of the vehicle fled. The Highway Patrol says the unidentified person may have walked to the border, crossing into Mexico. The 2nd incident was reported at 5:26 Monday morning. A vehicle fire was reported on Hovely Road, south of Fredricks Road. The CHP say when they arrived they found the cab of a big rig fully engulfed in flames. The occupants escaped unharmed. The cab of the rig was destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say a faulty ignition may be to blame.
