(Border Patrol seizes Meth and handguns)…It happened early this week.

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents were working the Interstate 8 Immigration Checkpoint Monday night when 2002 SUV drove up. There were 3 individuals in the vehicle. A Border Patrol Canine alerted to the vehicle and it was sent to the secondary inspection area. During the search agents found a backpack with 918 grams of methamphetamine inside. The meth was valued at $4,600. Agents also found a loaded .380 caliber handgun in the pocket of the front seat passenger. A 9mm handgun was found in the glove compartment of the vehicle. The 3, the 18 year old female driver, 57 year old male front seat passenger and 60 year old male backseat passenger, all US citizens, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. The narcotics and firearms were seized.
