Cattle Call Royalty

(Cattle Call Queen Contests begin Friday)….It is a two-day event.

The Coronations will be held on Saturday. Friday is the Horsemanship Competition. The special guest at the event will be Carrollann Rietta Scott, Miss Rodeo California. It will mark the first time in recent years that Miss California Rodeo has attended the Brawley competition. The Horsemanship ship competition will be held at the Cattle Call Arena, and is free to the public. It starts at 7:00 pm. The Coronation Saturday will be at the Imperial Palms Resort at Barbara Worth. Non-reserved tickets are available through the Brawley Chamber for $35.00. There are 8 contestants competing this year. The 2015-16 Cattle Call Queen candidate is 17-year-old Chelsey Roper. The Teen Queen candidates are; Lydia Jackson, Bayleigh Nelson, and Kelsey Gene Poloni. They are all three 14 years of age. The Junior Queen Candidates are 10-year-old Kaitlyn Jackson and 11-year-old Rylee Locher. The Little Miss candidates are Cheyenne Cox and Genesis Sandoval, both 7. The Queen and Teen Queen candidates will be judged on appearance, personality and Horsemanship. The Junior Queen and Little Miss candidates will not ride, but will still be judged on fashion and personality. The winners will represent the Brawley Chamber of Commerce and the community of Brawley at a variety of events in the coming year.
