Volume 1 - Issue 13

Election Results:

The County Elections Department finished counting the approximately 5100 absentee and provisional ballots left over from the November 7th mid-term elections. That many ballots left several races up in the air. With the tabulation results Tuesday night, it all became clear. The results are pretty much the same as they were. Other than padding the numbers, there is virtually no change in the out-come. District One Supervisor Victor Carrillo retains his seat with 2,287 votes to Alex Perrones 2,147. Anthony Sanchez wins the Imperial Irrigation District Division 5 seat with 10,083 votes to 9,688 for John Renison. For Holtville city council, the winners are still Lisa Bianca Padilla and Richard Layton. Salvador Pacheco Jr., Michael Castillo and Richard J. Cordero Jr. remain the elected members of the Calexico Unified School Board. Sylvia Bernal and Gilberto F. Rodriguez remain the choices for the Heffernan Memorial Hospital Board.
