El Centro, California –February 28th, 2007 – KXO Radio is proud to announce Imperial County Meteorologist Jim Christopherson will become a regular columnist for the KXO Radio Internet site, www.kxoradio.com. 

Mr. Christopherson has a long history with Imperial Valley Radio; he has been giving weather reports since 1976. Jim began his weather career as a forecaster for the United States Air Force and he retired as a forecaster from the National Weather Service in 1996. 

Jim Christopherson will be joining existing KXO Radio.com as a contributing columnist along with Jim Howell, Arizona Western College Sports Information Director, Jeff Wiemann of the American Red Cross, Dr. Rogelio Reyes of San Diego State University, Charles J. Hosken of Imperial Irrigation District and many others. 

The original pioneers of Imperial Valley understood the importance of keeping abreast of every aspect of whether information that was at their disposal. Times have not changed. Today weather forecasting has become critical in preparing for peak loads of electricity as well as the information so critical to the success of the agricultural industry. KXO radio has understood the importance of weather forecasts since inception when they first signed on the air in 1927.

Jim Christopherson has been a very important part of KXO Radio’s efforts to keep the Imperial Valley informed. His forecasts are always precise and accurate. The Valley is fortunate to have Jim’s expertise and experience available,” remarked KXO Vice President & Program Director Carroll Buckley.  "Everyone involved is excited about Jim offering to provide his unique perspective-via weather and astronomy columns, which will be published on the KXO Radio website so they can be enjoyed by our website visitors and radio listeners alike."
