(Consolidated Elections this Tuesday)…Consolidated Elections normally experience a low voter turnout.
On November 3 most voters will decide School and Special District races. In Brawley, Calipatria and El Centro there will be City Council races on the ballot. In Brawley voters will choose two new City Council members. The incumbents on the Brawley Council are not running for re-election. Three candidates are seeking the two seats. Sam Couchman, Toni Carrillo and Miguel Miranda are all on the ballot. In Calipatria, voters will choose three City Council seats. On the Ballot are candidates Kay A. Ours, Trevor C. Green, Peter Fuentes, Patricia Nelson and Fred R. Beltran. In El Centro, Jason Jackson is challenging incumbents Cheryl Viegas-Walker and Ben Solomon. El Centro voters will also decide Measure G. The Measure asks if voters want to change the Cities current form of Government. Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm on Tuesday. The Elections Department says Absentee Ballots can be returned before the polls close at any polling place in the jurisdiction. Canvassing of the ballots will begin November 5. Official results must be declared 28 after the canvassing. Election results on KXO Radio will begin as soon as the polls close Tuesday. |
