U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a convicted sex offender with an outstanding warrant Sunday afternoon.

Agents arrested a Mexican national who had entered the United States illegally about 29 miles west of Calexico , California. A records check revealed the man served a prison sentence for a narcotics conviction as well as a conviction for sex with a minor. The check aslo revealed an outstanding warrant for Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Child under 14. The man was arrested and is being held at Imperial County Jail pending extradition to Orange County , California.
