U. S. Border Patrol agents at the Highway 111 checkpoint near Niland found liquid methamphetamine in the fuel tanks for a big rig.

The semi-truck approached the checkpoint late Saturday afternoon and was directed to the side for further investigation. A Border Patrol K-9 detection team alerted to the vehicle and further inspection led to the discovery of a cloudy , dense liquid in the fuel tanks. The liquid tested positive as methamphetamine. The driver , a 25-year old Lawfully Admitted for Permanent Residence , was arrested. Agents were unable to determine the amount or value of the drugs due to the volatile nature f the fuel and drug mixture.
