(Cartel Cash, Drugs and ammo seized)...The result of a federal investigation into the Sinaloa Cartel.

The seizure occurred at a truck yard in Otay Mesa. Three Mexican Nationals tied to cross border trucking companies were arrested and charged in San Diego Federal Court Tuesday following the discovery of a massive cache of drugs, cash, and ammunitions stockpiled in the truck yard. The Department of Justice said the seizure included $3.5 million in cash, 685 kilograms of cocaine, 24 kilograms of fentanyl, about 20,000 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition and hundreds of body armor vests. It is believed to be the largest of its kind in the Southern District of California, according to Federal Prosecutors. Authorities say the cache belonged to the Sinaloa Cartel. The 3 arrested, Jesus Burgos Arias, a resident of Chula Vista, and Juan Alatorre Venegas and Jose Yee Perez of Tijuana. All three are accused of trafficking drugs on the organizations behalf. Officials say this case is part of a much larger investigation.
