(COVID 19 Vaccine trials)...They began Tuesday.

They were stopped almost immediately. The worldwide vaccine trials were organized by researchers from Oxford University and Astrozenica. They enlisted UC San Diego to enrole a large diverse group for the COVID 19 trials that include 1200 people from Imperial County and 1600 from San Diego County. The vaccine trials wre paused after a volunteer in England became ill. A researcher from Astrozenica said this is not unusual. He said they will investigate to determine what caused the illness, and make adjustments if it was the vaccine. The researchers say they do not expect the pause in the trials to take very long. There are several vaccines in the final stages of trials. The other researchers are watching the Oxford researchers closely to see if the issue could pertain to their trials, as well.
