The Imperial County Public Health Department updated the numbers for the COVID-19 pandemic in the county.

As of Tuesday morning the number of deaths in the Valley was 244 , the same it has been since Saturday. There are 926 active cases with 8,697 recovered patients. The total number of individuals who have tested positive is 9,867. As of Tuesday morning there were 14 COVID-19 positive patients in ICU beds and 10 patients on ventilators. Both numbers showing improvement over recent reports. The Imperial County 7-day percentage of positive testing individuals is at 11.89% , the state mandate is less than 8% testing positive in the past seven days to move closer to reopening the local economy. 

On Monday , Imperial County Health Officer Dr. Stephen Munday shared some information with regards to occupations of the people in Imperial County who have contracted COVID-19. According to Dr. Munday , the largest group is people who don't actually have a workplace. This includes people that are unemployed or retired. Other large categories include administrative services , caregiving , child support and other support services , those that work in education  and healthcare transportation. The Doctor added that this does not mean that these people contracted COVID in the work[lace but it is another piece of demographic data bout the COVID cases.
