(IID Scholarship presentations)…This year they were awarded virtually.

This was due to the COVID 19 mandates. Because of the pandemic in Imperial County, only the Imperial Irrigation District Board and staff attended the Board of Directors meeting this week. The Scholarships are awarded each year to High School Graduates who are children of IID employees. This year 25 Scholarships were awarded. The awards ranged between $250 to $1,500. There were two top awards presented. One went to the daughter of Water Manager Tina Shields and to the son of principal engineer Frank Fiorenza. The students had to have a 3.0 grade point average and plan to attend an accredited college or university in the fall.
