(Budget Augmentation Hearing postponed)…The hearing is part of the budget process.

The County Board of Supervisors had been scheduled to hold the Augmentation Hearing Tuesday. During public comments, Deputy District Attorney Debra Owen accused the Board of circulating a letter with budget information that had not been made available to the public or other county Departments. She asked that the augmentation hearing be postponed until everyone had seen the letter. It turns out, there was no letter. The document in question was a request for Board action on the Augmentation process. It had been added to the budget background folder, but had not been released to the public or published on-line. The Board provided Owen with the document and distributed a copy to the public. The Board then postponed the Augmentation hearing until September 17, to allow everyone an opportunity to review the document in question.
