(Man rescued from All American)…Border Patrol agents say it happened earlier this week.

Agents witnessed three individuals enter the country illegally about 12 mile east of the Calexico Port of Entry. Agents responded and found the three swimming north in the canal. As agents attempted to arrest one individual, the other two turned around and started swimming south toward Mexico. One of the individuals started having trouble swimming. Rescue devices were deployed, but failed to help the man. The swimmer began to panic and displayed signs of physical exhaustion. The agents took off their body armor and duty belts and entered the canal to rescue the man. They pulled him from the water and placed him in a service vehicle to stabilize his body temperature. The 19 year old Mexican National refused medical treatment. The two men were transported to the El Centro Station for processing. The third person made it back into Mexico.
