Brawley to welcome teachers a bit different this year

(The Brawley Chamber will be a little different this year)…They will be hosting a Welcome Back Teachers Dinner.

For the past 14 years the Chamber has welcomed the cities teachers back to work with a luncheon. Chamber Executive Director Jason Zara says they wanted to do something a little different this year. He said the luncheon was a wonderful event, but there was always a feeling that it was rushed as the teachers tried to get back to work. Zara says it is hoped a nice dinner will really show their appreciation for the teachers and give them an enjoyable evening. The dinner will be held September 19th at the Lions Center on “A” Street. Attendees will receive gifts, business information and office supplies for their classrooms. Tickets are $15 and are available at the Brawley Chamber and the Brawley Union High District. Tickets are available to the General Public, as well. Also during the event the Teachers of the Year will be announced. Doors open at 5:30 pm.
