(Imperial City Council approves declaration)….The action was taken Wednesday night.
The Council declared a local state of emergency in response to Coronal Virus COVID 19. Imperial Mayor Darrell Pechtl said the declaration was to ensure the City of Imperial has access to county, state and federal resources so they can properly respond and assist members of the community during the current crisis. The Brawley City Council is also expected to declare a local emergency at their meeting. Calexico and El Centro have approved similar declarations.
