(Tax Collector closing doors to the public)…It starts Friday.

They say the health and safety of the residents and employees of the County of Imperial continues to be of primary concern to County officials. Therefore, as part of the nationwide effort to halt the spread of COVID 19 Corona Virus, the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office will not be open to the public from March 20th through March 31st. They say the dates are subject to change at a later date. The April 10th deadline for the second installment of Property Taxes cannot be changed. It is set by state law. Critical county services, schools and local financial obligations are dependent on these scheduled revenues. For safety reasons, it is strongly requested property taxes be paid online or over the phone. The County can waive delinquency penalties. If you are going to be late with your payment, call the tax collectors office and let them know.
