(Two arrested following pursuit)…It happened Saturday evening.
At around 5:30 pm, Border Patrol agents attempted to execute a vehicle stop on County Road S-2 near Ocotillo. The White Lincoln failed to stop. After a brief pursuit, the driver finally stopped the vehicle. A Border Patrol Canine Team was brought in and alerted to the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle and two occupants were transported to the Highway 86 Checkpoint. During a search of the vehicle, agents found 62 packages inside a spare tire, and 11 more packages in a tote bag. The packages contained a total of 82 pounds of methamphetamine. The driver, a 35 year old male, and the passenger, a 35 year old female, both US citizens, the narcotics and vehicle were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
