The National Council for Home Safety and Security has released it's annual report on the safest cities in California.

The report says that the City of Imperial is the safest city in the Golden State. According to the report , Imperial's rate of 0.5 per 1,000 violent crime rate and 4.28 per 1,000 property crime rate is the lowest by far in California. No other Imperial County city made the top 50 list. The numbers were derived by computing the total number of crimes reported by each city and then creating a crime rate as the number of crimes per 1,000 population. The National Council for Home Safety and Security is a national trade association comprised of companies in the security sector , including licensed alarm installers , contractors and other relevant trade groups across the United States. By the way , the next four cities on the list are Hillsborough in the San Francisco Bay area , Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County , Truckee in Nevada County and Sierra Madre in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County.
