A local judge has found that the Imperial Irrigation District is not in contempt of his earlier ruling.
Imperial County Superior Court Judge Brooks Anderholt issued the ruling after Imperial Valley farmer Michael Abatti claimed the IID violated the judges earlier ruling that the District could not provide any new water to any lower priority water user during times of shortage until after the higher priority users receive their full allotment when the IID agreed to provide water to the Heber Geothermal operation , an existing water user. The judge found that the Imperial Irrigation District is not guilty of contempt of court.
