(Checkpoint seizure)…It happened Tuesday.

Border Patrol agents working the Highway 86 Immigration Checkpoint say an SUV pulled up at just after noon. A Border Patrol K-9 Detection Team alerted to the vehicle, and it was sent to the secondary inspection area. Agents inspecting the vehicle discovered several packages hidden in the spare tire of the vehicle. The packages contained almost 22 pounds of methamphetamine, valued at around $41,500. The driver of the vehicle, a lawfully admitted permanent resident, the narcotics and vehicle were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
