(Single Vehicle collision)…It happened Sunday evening.
It was not reported until Monday morning. The vehicle ran off the roadway and into the Central Main Canal off Picacho Road. The driver of the vehicle apparently escaped without injury. The California Highway Patrol says the vehicle was completely submerged, and was not visible from the surface. The canal was not damaged, but the Imperial Irrigation District was worried about the leaking fluids from the vehicle. The IID crews were removing the vehicle Sunday morning. The CHP is investigating the collision.
