(A Load of Meth Intercepted)…It was at the Highway 86 Checkpoint.
El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents were working the Checkpoint. Friday at around 11:55 am a 22 year old man drove a black Toyota into the Checkpoint. A border Patrol canine detection team alerted to the vehicle, and it was sent to the secondary inspection area. During the inspection, 59 packages were found hidden inside the back seat and rocker panels of the vehicle. The packages contained methamphetamine, weighing over 62 pounds, with an estimated value of more than $118,000. The driver of the vehicle, a US citizen, the narcotics and the vehicle were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
