El Centro Police recovered a stolen car with the help of a Mac Book in the trunk.

According to El Centro Police reports , a man in San Diego contacted ECPD Dispatch Center at about 1:37 p.m. Saturday. The man said that his car had been stolen and the Mac Book Pro lap top computer in the trunk " pinged " it's location near Cruickshank and Waterman Avenues. The man told officers that the car had been stolen in San Diego about 2 hours earlier in San Diego after a man took his wallet and keys from a locker at a gym. There was even a video of the suspect from the gym. El Centro police , on the phone with the victim in San Diego and the with information from the Mac Book in the trunk , were able to locate the car in the vicinity of the Valley Plaza Shopping Center. A traffic stop was attempted but the suspect refused to yield and a short pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended when the car turned down a dead-end street in the area of Waterman and Olive Streets. The suspect , a 35-year old man , was arrested and booked into Imperial County Jail for Auto Theft and Possession of Stolen Property. The car and Mac Book were recovered undamaged.
