(It was a lot like Christmas over the weekend)…Several Holiday events were held.
The weekend started Friday evening with the Christmas Tree Lighting and Street Fair in El Centro. The traditional Light Parade was also held at the Naval Air Facility El Centro. It was the 22nd Annual Light Parade at the facility. Officials say the crowd at the parade was bigger this year than it was last year. There were 35 floats in the parade. Five different awards were announced. The CO’s choice went to KJS Transformers. The XO’s Choice was NMC Act aka Weapons Frozen. The Commands Master Chief choice went to the County Sheriff’s Ginger Bread House built by County Inmates. The Best band award went the Holtville Viking Band. The best elementary band was Seeley Elementary. It was estimated 1300 visitors enjoyed the NAF Parade.
