The Yuma County Sheriff's Office says someone has been passing counterfeit currency in the Yuma area.

According to YCSO there have been 3 separate reports of counterfeit U.S. currency being presented at local businesses. Multiple bills have been presented in denominations of $1 , $10 and $20. The suspects trying to use the funny money are described as a Hispanic man and woman. No additional description was provided. The case remains under investigation. YCSO said that the bills are able to be identified as counterfeit using a detector pen.
