Brawley Cattle Call festivities are in full swing.
On Saturday morning the 34th Annual Chili Cook-Off was held at Plaza Park in downtown Brawley and thousands of hungry chili lovers showed up to sample the entries . First place in the competition went to Just in CASE Chili with El Chili de la Suavacito second and Packing House Chili third. The coveted People's Choice Prize went to Packing House Chile and the Best Booth Trophy went to Thermal Chili.
Cattle Call activities continue Tuesday night with the Cowboy Poetry Reading at the Stockman's Club , Wednesday is Mariachi Night at Plaza Park , Saturday morning is the Cattle Call Parade with two rodeo performances to follow , at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The fun wraps up on Sunday with a 1:00 p.m. matinee performance of the rodeo that will also feature Mariachi Mixteco.
