(The new Imperial Valley Food Bank facility)…It is now open.

After 4 years and $6.5 million, the grand opening was held over the weekend. The bulk of the time used to construct the new 28,000 square foot facility was trying to raise the money needed for construction. They began building the facility in 2018. The ribbon cutting ceremony, by invitation only, was held Friday. The facility was open to the public on Saturday. The new facility is located on West Aten Road. The Food Bank currently serves over 20,000 Imperial County residents. They can now increase those numbers, providing more and doing it more efficiently. They can also expand on programs, such as the backpack program. There is even a training area at the new facility.
