(PMH Foundation Fall Gala)…It was held Thursday.

The 16th annual event raises funds and awareness of a special project every year. This year it was the cath/lab currently under construction. When it is complete, it will be the first of its kind in Imperial County. Another highlight of the Gala is the presentation of the Margaret Award. This year’s award went to Patty Russell, a long time volunteer at Pioneers Memorial Hospital. Russell, a native of Calipatria, has been a Brawley resident since her marriage. Russell began as a Candy Striper at PMH when she was 17. Later becoming the youngest Pink Lady in the organization’s history. All of her six children were born at Pioneer’s. She continues to dedicate her time and talents to the hospital, its foundation and the healthcare district, as a whole.
