(Air Pollution South of the Border)…An Air Quality Alert was issued at around 6:00 Monday morning.

It only lasted a few hours. The Air Quality monitor in Mexicali registered very high levels of PM 2.5, a finite particulate matter created mostly from vehicle emissions. Air Quality was listed as Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, that includes people with respiratory or heart disease, the elderly and children. By mid-morning the levels of PM 2.5 had lowered somewhat, for an Air Quality condition of moderate. Air Quality conditions for the entire region has been listed as moderate throughout the morning, except for Niland where Air Quality was listed as good.
