(Dove Season began Sunday)…It kicked off Saturday.
For the past 10 years, wounded veterans have been honored in Brawley the day before Dove Season starts. The annual event is hosted by former congressman Duncan D. Hunter. This year over 50 vets from around the country gathered in Brawley for the event. Hunter said nobody deserves to be recognized more than a veteran who had been wounded in action. Following the event, everybody got a good night’s rest, and they all were up bright and early Sunday for the first day of Dove Hunting Season.
