(Imperial Valley Food Bank)…They began their Weekend Backpack Program this week.

The program is for the one out of three students who do not have enough food over the weekend. The Back packs are filled with food items and given to those students on Friday. They are brought back on Monday. The Food Bank says they services 700 students in the Imperial Valley. This year they are also adding school supplies to the backpacks. They say many parents must choose between food and school supplies every school year. The new addition allows those parents to use their limited funds on food items. Contact the Food Bank to donate food items or school supplies.
