(119 pounds of Meth seized)…It happened late last week.

Agents were working the Border Patrol Immigration Checkpoint on Interstate 8, near Campo, late last week. A grey Mazda drove up to the checkpoint. A Border Patrol k-9 team alerted to the vehicle. The vehicle and the driver were sent to the secondary inspection area. A second k-9 alerted to the trunk area of the vehicle. The agents found 114 packages concealed in the vehicle’s door and rear quarter panels. The packages contained methamphetamine, and weighed 119 pounds, with an estimated street value of $237,700. The driver, a 33 year old US citizen was arrested. The driver and the narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation. The vehicle was seized by the Border Patrol.
