(Two rescued in the desert)…It was reported Sunday west of Calexico.

A Border Patrol BORSTAR team made contact with the two about 29 miles west of Calexico. The El Centro Sector Border Patrol office had received a 911 call from the Mexican Government on Saturday. They reported two individuals had become lost in the desert. They provided GPS coordinates obtained from the distress call they had received. A Mexican military helicopter and Grupo Beta were already searching on the Mexican side of the border. On Sunday, with temperatures near 115 degrees, the BORSTAR team hiked into the desert. At just after noon, the team located the two men under the shade of shrubs. They were suffering severe dehydration. Both men were treated on scene, and an air ambulance was requested. The two were, a 21 year old and a 15 year old, were flown out of the area for further medical treatment. Their current condition is not known.
