The City of Brawley has received a $14.7 million grant for affordable homes.
Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia announced Friday that the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program ( AHSC ) grant , the first such program grant for Imperial County, will provide for the Ocotillo Springs project that will develop net-zero energy affordable housing with sidewalks , bikeways and van pool connectivity.
Funding for the AHSC Program is provided by the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund , the Cap and Trade program. The City of Coachella received grant funding of nearly $15 million for affordable housing and a transportation hub.
