(Search and Rescue)…It happened Wednesday.

Yuma County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 8:34 in the morning. A male subject reported he and another male were lost and ill in the desert, south of the Foothills. Deputies conducted a lengthy search in their patrol trucks and on foot. The two subjects were finally located in a wash. The one who called 911 told deputies the two were coming from Mexico and they had been in the desert for two days. The second subject was reportedly very ill. He was hallucinating and could not walk. Deputies carried the man to where the patrol trucks were left. A Border Patrol Helicopter and a BORSTAR unit soon arrived to begin medical treatment. The two were transported to the Sheriff’s Station, and then transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center. Their condition is not known.
