(A Letter campaign is underway)….Imperial County is initiating the campaign.
They are asking the International Boundary and Water Commission to do something about the New River pollution. Officials said Tuesday it did not matter if they did something on this side of the border or on the Mexican side, but something had to be done. The county will be asking entities around the county to join in the campaign to send letters to the Commission. County residents are also asked to participate. Letters will be sent to political representatives in the state, as well as in the Nation’s Capital. Copies of the County letter will be delivered to the IBWC Citizens Advisory Committee, as well. Anyone interested in participating should contact the County Executive Office for more information.
