(Memorial Day Weekend)…It is this weekend
. Memorial Day should not be confused with Veteran’s Day. They are different. Veteran’s Day honors all Military veterans. Memorial Day remembers all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Memorial Day events begin Saturday in Imperial County. The Brawley American Legion Post 60 will hold their annual walk, beginning at 7:30 Saturday morning. Participants will gather at the Post at 509 G Street in Brawley. They will be shuttled to the park in Westmorland, and then walk back to the American Legion Post in Brawley. On Monday a Memorial Day ceremony will be hosted by the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and the City of Holtville. It begins at 8:30 am Memorial Day and will be held at the Memorial Monument in Holt Park. At 11:00 am Monday the Annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the Order of Elks Lodge El Centro #1325. The Lodge is located at 631 Main Street in El Centro, at the flag pole. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend any one or all of the scheduled events.
