(Support for Freedom Fest)….This year will be the 29 annual Freedom Fest.
The July 4th celebration event is held at the Imperial Valley College Campus, and draws an estimated 50,000 spectators in and around the college campus. There are traditionally several vendors of food and other items, static displays entertainment along with the free fireworks display, synchronized to music on FM 107.5. Gene Brister, president of the Freedom Fest Committee, told the Board of Supervisors last year’s event was put together with the assistance of around 330 volunteers. The Board again voted unanimously to support and offered the County’s cooperation for Freedom Fest.
