(Border Patrol makes arrest this week)…The suspect is accused of attempting to smuggle methamphetamine.

The 43 year old man drove a 2006 SUV into the Highway 86 checkpoint. A Border Patrol canine Detection Team alerted to the vehicle. It was sent to the secondary inspection area. Agents discovered 40 packages in the gas tank of the SUV. It turned out to be over 42 pounds of methamphetamine, with a street value of almost $98,000. The man, the vehicle and the narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
