(Border Crossers may soon be asked for more than their I.D.)….Not everybody likes the idea.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement says they will begin voluntary DNA testing in cases where officials suspect that adults are fraudulently claiming to be parents of children as they cross the US/Mexico Border. The decision comes as Homeland Security officials are increasingly concerned about instances of child trafficking as a growing number of Central American families cross the border, straining resources to the breaking point. The voluntary DNA testing could begin as early as next week. The American Civil Liberties Union called the plan yet another example of the Trump administration seeking to intimidate and deter asylum seekers. They said forced DNA collection is coercive and intrusive, and the ACLU says it raises serious privacy and civil liberties concerns.
